Case Study: Petroleum Engineering Expertise

Because energy is an essential component of a global economy, demand for petroleum engineers and professionals in related disciplines, including engineering and geoscience, are growing in demand across the African continent and around the world.

Although Africa is rich in oil, gas, and other natural resources, the human resources with skills and expertise to harvest, produce, market, and distribute these natural resources is limited. In the spirit of social responsibility, one of our clients sponsored a program to develop the skills and expertise in petroleum engineering for the country’s professionals.

As lead instructional designer, one of our partners worked with stakeholders to design and develop the first graduate petroleum engineering program in a university in Africa. This program builds necessary skills in geoscience, drilling and completions, reservoir engineering and petrophysics and production operations and facilities engineering.
